Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Queen’s Blood Expansions are Possible Says Square Enix

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is stacked with content featuring plenty of mini-games and side activities to tackle. However, arguably the most popular side activity in the game so far is the deck-building card game called Queen’s Blood. Square Enix has revealed that Queen’s Blood has gotten so popular, it’s actually considering releasing expansions for it down the line, though nothing has been set in stone yet.

Speaking in an interview with Red Bull, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi talked about the success of Queen’s Blood and the possibility of the mini-game receiving expansions in the future. “There are 145 cards in total. We haven’t decided anything in terms of future development for Queen’s Blood,” said Hamaguchi. “But so far, the media who played it have provided very positive feedback on it, so we want to consider further expansions as a possibility.”

Hamaguchi added that while there are no plans at the moment to expand the content, it’s possible that Square Enix might consider adding new cards in future updates. The card game exclusively features characters from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth so it will be interesting to see Queen’s Blood receive cards based on other Final Fantasy games.

In related news, the exclusivity of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is still up in the air following a report from Washington Post which stated the third and final game would be exclusive to PlayStation. The outlet later clarified that statement, revealing that the third game’s exclusivity is undetermined.
