NetherRealm Studios has released a first look teaser trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character, Homelander. For those that don’t know, Homelander is one of the primary villains in Amazon’s hit TV series, The Boys – a spiteful superhero who uses his powers for more evil deeds than good.
In the first look teaser trailer for Homelander, we’re shown the character’s clash dialogue with Fire God Liu Kang and what appears to be his fatality, in which he launches his opponent into the sky, who is then hit by a passing plane. Homelander also drinks some milk in the intro – if you watched the show, we understand why you’re disgusted. We didn’t get any in-depth gameplay for Homelander yet but since this is a teaser, we can expect a full trailer to show off more of his movesets in Mortal Kombat 1 soon.
Homelander arrives as a DLC fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 ahead of the fourth season of The Boys which premieres on 13 June. Unfortunately, NetherRealm Studios didn’t state when Homelander will be added to the game but we imagine it will coincide with the new season. The character will be available as part of the game’s Kombat Pack 1 or bought separately.

Other DLC characters available in Kombat Pack 1 include Omni-Man from Invincible, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac and Takeda Takahashi, who will be added to the roster sometime in summer 2024 alongside Homelander. NetherRealm Studios previously promised that Mortal Kombat 1 will receive a big story DLC in the future similar to Mortal Kombat 11‘s Aftermath expansion.
In related news, Mortal Kombat 1 will be one of the headliners at Evo 2024 this year with Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6.
