A remake of 2005’s acclaimed arcade racing game Need for Speed: Most Wanted is seemingly in development at EA Games with a release date planned for some time in 2024. This is according to one of the original game’s voice actors who recently posted a now-deleted social media message that it was on its way next year.
Simone Bailey, who previously voiced Cross’ partner in the original Need for Speed: Most Wanted, posted on her social media accounts yesterday that a remake is being released in 2024. The post has since been removed, which only adds validity to her claims. The actor also tagged Criterion Games in the post, suggesting that the developer will be handling the remake. This isn’t to be confused with 2012’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted, another version of the game that wasn’t nearly as well-received as its predecessor.

If Bailey’s claims are true, then the next Need for Speed game we can expect is a remake of Most Wanted. Fans have been asking for a remake for years now and it looks like EA Games is finally listening to the community’s wishes.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted was originally developed by EA Canada and EA Black Box and released in 2005 for PS2, the original Xbox, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, PC and Xbox 360. A follow-up to Need for Speed: Underground 2, Most Wanted threw players into the underground racing scene where they must take down the Blacklist, a group of renowned street racers. It also contained police pursuits, extensive car customisation and rewards such as pink slips for beating Blacklist racers.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is often cited as one of the best games in the series and one of the best arcade racing games of all time. As with all reports, take this with a pinch of salt for now.
