Sony released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming PS5 exclusive Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart that reveals the mysterious female Lombax we previously met during the game’s reveal back in 2020. Her name is Rivet and she is a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension. Along with the trailer, there’s also some gorgeous new PS5 gameplay to watch and it is pretty.
The trailer jumps across dimensions and planets. In addition, we see gameplay from both Ratchet and Rivet as they jump, slide, rail and shoot everything in sight using crazy over-the-top guns.

Sony says they will have more to share about Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart this week during a special State of Play stream. The stream will kick off on Thursday, 29 April at 2pm PT / 5pm ET and 23:00 SAT. You can tune into the stream on Twitch and YouTube.
The current Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart Deluxe Edition version of the game has also been tweaked now to accommodate the new Lombax named Rivet. Players who purchase the game will not only get Ratchet skins, which were previously announced but also Rivet skins too. This includes Android, Rebel and Hacker Suits for the character.
The song we chose for the trailer has special meaning beyond just being a great, exciting track. It is from the (Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame nominated) band DEVO, a personal favorite of mine, but, some would say more importantly, the band that the incomparable Mark Mothersbaugh co-founded. I’m excited to announce that Mark is the Composer of the Rift Apart soundtrack! Beyond his work in DEVO, you’ve likely heard his compositions across the years whether it was in the original three Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games, as well as animated series like Rugrats, and the blockbuster film: Thor Ragnarok. We are so thrilled to be collaborating with Mark and cannot wait for you to hear the incredible score he’s come up with.
