PS5 Won’t Be Delayed, Has The Best Launch Lineup in PlayStation History

Sony wants people to know the PS5 and launch lineup is still on track for this year. In addition, whatever PlayStation 5 games they have cooking at their respective studios, are also on track to release at launch. This reiteration is most likely due to the recent announcement that Halo Infinite won’t make the Xbox Series X launch in November.

Demon’s Souls Remake Could Be a PS5 Launch Title

Speaking to GamesIndustry, Sony Interactive Entertainment head of global marketing Eric Lampel touched on the subject saying;

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#0254CA” class=”” size=”21″]”We will launch this year – that will happen – and from my end, we will absolutely make sure that we will bring all of the magic and all of the excitement of launches that we have had in the past.”[/perfectpullquote]

Lampel hinted that Sony’s PS5 launch lineup will see a strong list of games. This includes the ones we have seen already as well as some unannounced titles.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#0254CA” class=”” size=”21″]”The content that will be in the launch window and beyond is incredibly exciting. I would say that this is the best line-up that we’ve ever seen in the history of PlayStation, between our Worldwide Studios groups and our partners from all the different publishers around the world. We’ve revealed some of that content, and naturally, there will be more to come, but the way that the developers can engage with this platform, and create these new experiences with known IP as well as unknown IP, is incredibly exciting.”[/perfectpullquote]

Sony says launching a new console amid a global pandemic has not been easy. Lampel claims the launch has been a massive challenge on every front not just for his organisation but for all parts of the company.

Still, we have no idea when Sony plans on launching the PS5 worldwide and what the launch lineup is. The company is keeping its secrets well-hidden. By the sound of things, Sony still has more to reveal in terms of games including launch and future titles. We know Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a PlayStation 5 launch title and apparently the Demon’s Souls Remake too. However, it sounds like the brand has more surprises coming soon.
