Batman: Arkham Knight, a Rocksteady game that released over seven years ago, recently received a surprise update in the form of The Batman suit worn by Robert Pattinson in last year’s Matt Reeves-directed movie. The game, at least on Epic Games Store, was quietly updated to add Pattinson’s suit before Rocksteady quickly removed it, suggesting that it was accidentally added to the game ahead of any official announcement.
Several users and media outlets had already reported on the addition of Pattinson’s batsuit to Arkham Knight before Rocksteady realised the error and quickly corrected it. Without any marketing or promotion leading up to the reveal, it’s believed that the new suit update was released too early and might’ve possibly been planned for the launch of Batman: Arkham Trilogy on Nintendo Switch this December instead.

The Pattinson suit update didn’t make it to consoles as far as we’re aware but either way, it’s inaccessible now until Rocksteady makes an official announcement regarding the sudden new addition.

The Batman released in 2022 and starred Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Colin Farrell as The Penguin. It received positive reviews and despite its lengthy 3-hour run time, managed to tell a compelling detective crime drama as Batman, still fresh on the scene, hunts down a serial killer involved in a series of mysterious murders in Gotham. A sequel, The Batman Part II, is scheduled to arrive in October 2025.
It’s strange that Rocksteady would choose to add The Batman suit to Arkham Knight considering that it launched way back in 2015. Of course, Rocksteady’s next game isn’t a Batman game but rather Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, so it makes sense that the suit would only fit a game where Batman is actually playable. It’s worth noting that Batman is present in the upcoming Suicide Squad game but likely won’t be a playable character.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy releases on Nintendo Switch on 1 December 2023.
