The Red Dead Redemption The Outlaws Collection Leak is Probably Fake

Over the weekend, a so-called “Amazon placeholder” for a game called “The Red Dead Redemption The Outlaws Collection” was spotted online. According to the listing, the collection would arrive on PS5, PS4 and Xbox platforms and bring with it a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption as well as a next-gen upgraded version of Red Dead Redemption II. It sounds like every Red Dead Redemption fan’s dream game, right? Well, that is what makes it even more fake.

The image was originally shared by a Twitter account called “Gaming Leaks and Rumors”. However, the user could not back the claim up in any way. There was no link, no cached web page. Nothing of the sorts. Thankfully, the internet had their way with the images, and you can toss this dream game collection in the pile of “too good to be true”, along with all those other fake remake listings.

Before we get into the gritty details, the first thing I noticed which was an instant red flag was the skew “Smart Delivery” logo on The Red Dead Redemption The Outlaws Collection Xbox box. Even from a distance, you can see the text is angled upwards and is clearly an amateur’s mistake. Users then had their way with the listing claiming that it is an edited HTML page with a photoshop photo. One user sourced the original artwork of John Marston which has clearly been well-edited into the cover art.

The more users uncovered this “link-less” game listing, the more they were filled with doubt. Sure, owning a Red Dead Redemption remake alongside an enhanced Red Dead Redemption II would be every Rockstar fan’s dream game but I don’t see that happening any time soon. While the listing has not officially been announced as fake, we just wanted to ease you into the disappointment.
