Valorant launched last week on PC. If you aren’t aware, the new free-to-play competitive shooter has been developed by the League of Legends team at Riot Games. It marks the first game to come out of the studio since the launch of LoL. With the PC launch being a success, gamers are wondering whether or not Valorant will be headed console namely the PS4 and Xbox One? Well, it seems that it will.
Riot Games is not wasting any time at all. The team are already prototyping the Valorant PS4 and Xbox One build. However, the team are not sure yet if the game will be the experience they want to deliver. Gamespot interviewed Riot Games Executive producer Anna Donlon. She explained that the core of Valorant is its “strong level of competitive integrity. In addition, the studio are concerned a console port will not capture that same “experience” for all players.

But we really want Valorant to stand for a certain type of gameplay and a certain type of experience.”[/perfectpullquote]
Anna goes on to reveal its not a no yet. The developers are “very excited” to prove the potential of the competitive shooter on consoles. However, the PC version was the priority. Should Riot Games confirm Valorant works for console including the PS4 and Xbox One, they will release it but it will not arrive anytime soon.
