Arcane Season 2 Will Release in November 2024

Netflix has finally revealed when fans can expect the second season of the hit League of Legends animated series, Arcane. As revealed by the company as part of Geeked Week, Arcane season 2 will officially arrive in November 2024 – three years after the first season debuted.

The cast of Arcane‘s second season will see Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, Ella Purnell as Jinx and Katie Leung as Caitlyn reprise their roles, though the rest of the cast hasn’t been confirmed yet. Beyond that, we don’t have much information for the story of season 2. The first season left fans on a gripping cliffhanger and it’s believed that a continuation would pick up right where we left off, though it’s possible that the second season could take a different approach too.

Prior to the news of Arcane‘s second season, Riot Games head of IP Creative Laura DeYoung confirmed that the series was canon and takes place in the same universe as the League of Legends game:

“Over the years, we’ve introduced inconsistencies that have woven their way into the storytelling and worldbuilding of Runeterra. We don’t believe that’s the right approach, because that kind of fragmentation makes the world feel less believable. It just undercuts meaningful character development and frankly, it makes it hard for all of you to feel like you can deeply invest in a story knowing it might not be honored [in the future].”

Riot Games previously revealed that season 2 was still in the middle of production back in April and wouldn’t make a 2023 release date. A late 2024 release seems a lot more realistic.  Make sure you read up on our ending explained for the first season and what to expect in the next season.

Arcane season 2 will launch in November 2024 on Netflix. A trailer wasn’t provided with the announcement.
