Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios says it’s working on adding cross-platform mod support to the game later this year. Similar to how console mods are supported in Bethesda games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim, Baldur’s Gate 3 will get the same treatment across all platforms, allowing not only PC users but PlayStation and Xbox players to access several mods via a dedicated menu in the game.
Larian Studios recently released hotfix 19 for Baldur’s Gate 3 which features a few bug fixes and minor updates. However, the company also teased something big on the horizon in form of cross-platform mod support, which is currently being worked on for a late 2024 release on all platforms.
“We generally don’t talk about things til they’re ready, but as you may have read, we’re making an exception,” said Larian Studios in a tweet. “We’ve been working on a robust, cross-platform plan for mod support to be released later in [the] year. We love our modding community and we want to support them. It’s coming.”

Mods are already available for Baldur’s Gate 3 players on PC through third-party modding sites like Nexus Mods. While Larian didn’t go into much detail about how mods will work on consoles, it’s safe to assume that a separate menu will be added to the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S that curates a number of community mods for players to access.
In other news, Larian Studios recently released a massive 21GB update for Baldur’s Gate 3 that includes improved kissing animations, easier ways to switch out party members in camp and much more.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
