Bethesda Media Event Planned for March, Redfall Date Leaked – Report

Ahead of the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct showcase, a new report claims that Bethesda will host a dedicated media event in early March. It’s unclear if the event will be made public, but the report elaborates that it will only feature Redfall and The Elder Scrolls Online which are both part of the Developer Direct event today.

The report originates from Insider Gaming, which has usually been accurate with gaming leaks in the past. Apparently, Bethesda’s media event will take place in the beginning of March though no date was given. Additionally, the site claims that Redfall, the new open-world vampire action game from Dishonored developer Arkane Studios, will get a release date of 2 May 2023. It’s not specified if the date will be unveiled at today’s Developer Direct showcase or at this media event.

The leaked Redfall release date was also corroborated by Jez Corden of Windows Central, adding a bit more credibility to the rumour. It’s likely that we’ll get a confirmation of the release date at the Developer Direct showcase as that will give Xbox a few months to begin marketing the game.

Above all, it’s not yet known if Starfield, the anticipated sci-fi RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, will be present at this media event. Microsoft confirmed that the game will gets its own dedicated showcase in the near future but it will probably be a public event. Fans expect Bethesda to also announce a release date for Starfield, which was recently reported to have been delayed to summer (between June and August).

Take this with a grain of salt for now. Since this will be a media event, it’s not known if the information will be available to the public immediately after. Either way, it looks like Microsoft is aiming to change Xbox’s image this year and finally start delivering games that it has been promising since it started acquiring big studios.
