Skyblivion Skywind Skyrim Mods Updates

Massive Skyrim Mods Skyblivion and Skywind Get Gameplay Updates

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim might be over a decade old but the sheer volume of impressive mods continue to roll in, keeping the game’s community thriving. Two massive mods called Skywind and Skyblivion, that aim to remake both The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in Skyrim respectively, recently received promising gameplay updates as work on the ambitious projects continues to push forward. The good news is that Skyblivion is closer to launch than you think.

The team behind the Skyblivion mod recently uploaded a video going through the lovingly recreated locations and areas from the original game using Skyrim‘s assets. Some much-needed quality of life improvements will also be added to Skyblivion that brings the experience more in line with Skyrim‘s mechanics and visual details than Oblivion‘s admittedly janky nature. The Skyblivion team is still committed to a 2025 release date (after being in development since 2016), though they’re still actively recruiting volunteers to work on the project.

Meanwhile, Skywind is a similar project that aims to remake Morrowind in all its glory, also using many of Skyrim‘s assets. Skywind has been in development for almost a decade, though the team hasn’t committed to a release date just yet. In fact, they’re also still looking for volunteers. A recent update video showed the tremendous progress that the devs have made on the project. If you want to know just how crazy this mod is, the video notes that Skyrim had 1,100 NPCs voiced by 70 actors. Skywind has 3,000 NPCs voiced by 300 actors.

At this rate, there’s a good chance that we’ll be playing both Skyblivion and Skywind well before The Elder Scrolls 6 arrives. Since it seems unlikely that Oblivion and Morrowind will get official remakes/remasters anytime soon, these projects will definitely hold us over in the meantime.
