Bloober Team Says Silent Hill 2 Remake News is Up to Konami

Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team has given an update on why there’s been a lack of news about the anticipated game. According to a new statement published by the studio, it’s up to Konami to decide when news will be released for Silent Hill 2, possibly including new trailers and promotional material. It sounds like Bloober Team is simply waiting for the publisher to break the silence, seemingly out of the developer’s hands.

The Silent Hill 2 remake was first unveiled in October last year. Since then, every bit of information we’ve received about the game over the past year has mostly been unverified leaks and rumours with nothing concrete to go on. The remake is still without a release date either. According to Bloober Team, Konami actually has the final say on when new info is revealed.

The full statement from Bloober Team regarding the lack of Silent Hill 2 news reads:

“As Bloober Team, we are proud to be a part of Konami’s plans for the Silent Hill franchise. Alongside our partner, we are working to ensure the Silent Hill 2 remake attains the highest quality. On behalf of our development team, we would like to clarify that the production is progressing smoothly and in accordance with our schedule. We understand that many players around the world are eagerly anticipating news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication. However, we kindly ask for a bit more patience. Once Konami, as the game’s publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile.”

Back in March 2023, Bloober Team stated that the game was “close to completion”, though it’s been several months without any marketing material. A new rumour indicates that it could arrive as soon as March 2024 so it’s possible that news might be around the corner.

Silent Hill 2 is currently in development for PS5 and PC.
