Dying Light 2 has been under the radar for around 18 months now. Techland previously shared gameplay with fans back in August 2019 and rumours of the game’s rocky development began to spread when multiple developers departed the studio. However, Techland recently released a statement claiming that the development is progressing well and they should have some exciting news for gamers soon. The news in question could actually be a new gameplay showcase and a Dying Light 2 release date. Earlier this week a Dying Light 2 Collector’s Edition leaked and now EB Games in Australia have listed the game for a 25 May 2021 release.
The February 2021 PlayStation Plus Lineup Includes Control, Destruction AllStars and More
The release date was spotted by a Reddit user who found the game listing on the retailer’s website. According to the listing, Dying Light 2 is set to launch on 25 May 2021 for PS4 and Xbox One. However, there’s a high chance the game will also release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S alongside the last-gen consoles.
Keep in mind that this listing could also simply be a mistake. Retailers have been known for their incorrect release dates in the past. However, there’s also a good chance that it could actually be real. Dying Light 2 was originally announced back at E3 2018 and has seen been a heavy focus for Techland. With the collector’s edition, the developer’s “exciting news” tease and now this appearing online, we could be in for confirmation very soon.
