EA Sports Has “Huge Confidence” in First Football Game Without FIFA

EA Sports executive David Jackson says that the upcoming football game from the company will introduce further innovations never seen before in the series. For those who don’t know, EA Games and FIFA split last year after 30 years of producing the FIFA football video game series together.

At the moment, EA Sports is working on its own new football game called EA Sports FC which is due to release later this year. However, FIFA is also reportedly working on its own game under the usual FIFA branding. This begs the question – “what are fans in for?”.

David Jackson claims that EA Sports is pouring a huge amount of energy into EA Sports FC. The exec says that most of EA’s studios all around the world are helping with the development of the game. He says that EA’s ambitious new football game has set some high standards for the company and in order to achieve this, studios had to join forces to work on the project.

“EA Sports FC is our future vision. I think we’ve done a very good job and had a great relationship over time with the FIFA organisation, but now’s the right time for us to set a new path and chart our own path forward, be able to meet players expectations where they are, and we feel we can do that best through the lens of our own platform.”

Touching on the subject of the game’s rebranding, Jackson claims that breaking away from the FIFA name has allowed EA to create “new and engaging experiences” for players.

“It’s a mindset shift for us. We now think very expansively about opportunity. And the areas that we would like to create experiences for fans in the future. We have a huge amount of confidence in what we’re going to be able to bring to market later on this year. There are two things that are really important to us. And our players telling us are important to them.”

Jackson says that EA Sports FC is the most authentic football game ever created. It features over 19,000 players, over 700 teams and 30 leagues. He says that as the game expands, more content will be added to propel EA Sports FC into the biggest football game on the market.

“The other thing that’s super important to us is innovation and our ability to be able to create new and engaging experiences that fans tell us that they’re expecting from us at EA.”

EA has been quite pleased with the development of its EA Sports FC game since its divorce from FIFA. The company previously expressed how the FIFA brand was holding its game back from growing and including other leagues and players.

FIFA, on the other hand, is also boasting the same confidence. Earlier this year FIFA president ??? claimed that the new game, which is a mystery at this point, will be the best E-Game game “for any girl and boy”.

EA is set to unveil EA Sports FC sometime in June.
