Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gets a Bunch of New Screenshots and Details

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake, is under two months away from release and Square Enix is steadily building the hype. Alongside a new trailer which shows a lot more Sephiroth and a giant snake boss fight, the publisher also released several new screenshots and details about the upcoming game including its impressive fast travel system on the world map.

Most of the details Square Enix recently provided for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth centre on combat, new characters and some familiar locations. Cait Sith (Square Enix provided an official pronunciation of their name) and Yuffie are the focus of the new details and how well they synergise in combat. Yuffie is fast, agile and has ninjutsu-like abilities that allow her to easily dash around enemies, close gaps with her oversized weapon and even create puppet copies of herself as a distraction.

Cait Sith rides on a large moogle mount and can zip around the battlefield quickly too, though moogle attacks are much slower but hit harder. Consecutive moogle attacks will fill the Moogle Meter that, when full, can allow Cait Sith to apply buffs to allies. However, most of Caith Sith’s attacks are based on luck as different abilities seemingly apply random buffs or deal random damage to enemies. Yuffie and Cait Sith will have their own Synergy Ability too. Square Enix didn’t state exactly what it was but it will be some kind of “secret ninja technique.”

Square Enix also released a bunch of new screenshots for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, with most of them showing Yuffie and Cait Sith in action. Check them out below:
