GRID System Requirements Revealed – 100GB Free Space and Recommending a Monster

In case you haven’t been following Codemasters’ latest racing game, simply called GRID, the game was delayed from its September release date until 11 October 2019 recently. The delay doesn’t seem to be to optimize and make the game a bit lighter on the harddrive space requirements, as the GRID system requirements have been revealed and they look a bit daunting.

Codemasters revealed the official GRID system requirements and although the minimum doesn’t look that bad, everyone and their cat knows that racing games, just like fighting games, really need to be that smooth experience without framerate drops to fully enjoy. For the GRID system requirements on the recommended side of things, it looks like PC gamers will need a monster PC for the optimal experience and everyone who plans on getting the game should start clearning some harddrive space.

GRID weighs in at 100GB and that is a whole lot if you ask me. The game will be using the same engine (EGO) as F1 2019, a game which already required 80GB of harddrive space, but the recommended system requirements for GRID are even higher. Check out the full minimum and recommended system requirements for GRID below.

Minimum:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: 64 bit Version of Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel i3 2130 / AMD FX4300
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GT 640 / HD7750
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 100 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Soundcard

Recommended:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: 64 bit Version of Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel i5 8600k / AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1080 / RX590
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 100 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Soundcard

I think it is still fair to call a PC with a GTX 1080 a monster PC at the moment, but at least the CPU requirements aren’t that bad. However, the HDD space requirement is very high if you ask me.
