Hogwarts Legacy Won’t Have Any Multiplayer or Online Features

WB Games and Portkey Games have confirmed that the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy will not have any multiplayer features whatsoever. The company claims that the RPG is strictly a single-player experience through and through.

According to the Hogwarts Legacy FAQ, the game won’t have any co-op or online play. In addition, the game won’t feature any sort of online features such as leaderboards or an online ranking system. By the sound of things, this game is offline and a solo experience which is also great news.

Given WB Game’s track record in the past for online games, especially those that include microtransactions and DLC, this is great news for Hogwarts Legacy fans. The FAQ reads:

“Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world, single-player, action role-playing videogame (RPG) set in the 1800s wizarding world.

The story has players experiencing life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before, as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.”

WB Games has also detailed J.K Rowling’s involvement in Hogwarts Legacy. The company says that the author, who has been shrouded in controversy over the past few years due to her anti-trans movement, has no say or input in the game whatsoever. The FAQ says she is supportive of the design and creation of the project.

“J.K. Rowling is supportive of Portkey Games and has entrusted the design and creation of the games to WB Games and the developers involved.”

So we know that Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player game. It won’t support any multiplayer or online features and it won’t include any microtransactions. Sounds like a dream come true. Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch later this year. Catch up on the gameplay feature here and watch the trailer down below.
