Jordan Peele’s new sci-fi horror Nope is getting glowing reviews ahead of its release this week. This marks the director’s third outing that scored well with critics, preceded by 2017’s Get Out and 2019’s Us. Reviews have called it a “Spielbergian spectacle” with plenty of well-crafted metaphors and allegories thrown in – a signature of Jordan Peele films.
Nope stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun as residents of a small Californian town who seemingly discover something not of this world. “The residents of a lonely gulch in inland California bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery,” the film’s plot description reads, keeping most of its plot details a secret.
