Mortal Kombat 1 Character Roster Possibly Leaked

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch this September and developer NetherRealm Studios has been slowly drip-feeding information about the game leading up to its release. We recently got a first look at gameplay thanks to Summer Game Fest, which confirmed a few new fighters that weren’t seen in the reveal trailer. However, a new leak has now possibly revealed the character roster for the game, confirming some fan-favourites as well.

The leak originates from prominent Mortal Kombat 11 leaker r0000r who recently responded to a fake leaker’s list, stating which inclusions were right or wrong. This gave us an idea of at least 19 characters that will reportedly be part of Mortal Kombat 1‘s roster, though it’s unclear if more will be announced beyond the guest characters.

Here’s the leaker’s list of characters potentially coming to Mortal Kombat 1:

  • Ashrah
  • Havik
  • Johnny Cage
  • Kenshi
  • Kitana
  • Kung Lao
  • Li Mei
  • Liu Kang
  • Mileena
  • Nitara
  • Raiden
  • Reiko
  • Reptile
  • Scorpion
  • Shang Tsung
  • Sindel
  • Smoke
  • Sub-Zero
  • Tanya

Since this is a leak that hasn’t be verified by an official source, we recommend taking it with a pinch of salt for now until we get some confirmation. If the list turns out to be true, then we’re looking at Mortal Kombat 1‘s potential character roster that will be included in the base game with the exception of Shang Tsung who is a pre-order character.

In related news, Mortal Kombat 1‘s gameplay showcased at Summer Game Fest was a glorious display of violence, gory fatalities and some new heated rivalries and unlikely alliances, including Sub-Zero and Scorpion who appear to be brothers in this rebooted universe. Mortal Kombat 1 launches on 19 September 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Make sure you read up on our pre-order guide which covers the game’s various editions.
