The divisive Seasonal Fatality Bundle for Mortal Kombat 1 has received a price and release date. The bundle gained traction online when fans noticed that Warner Bros. Games was essentially charging players for unique season-themed fatalities. Players feared that the bundle – which packs Halloween, Thanksgiving and Winter Fatalities – would cost around $30. Luckily, it’s not that expensive but it’s still hotly debated by the community.
Warner Bros. Games confirmed in a statement to IGN that the Seasonal Fatality Bundle for Mortal Kombat 1 will cost 1,200 Dragon Krystals (Mortal Kombat 1‘s premium currency), which roughly translates to $10 since you can buy packs of 1,250 Dragon Krystals for that price. The bundle will become available on 17 November across all platforms.

Fans initially believed that the Seasonal Fatality Bundle might cost $30 after the Halloween Fatality cost players 1,200 Dragon Krystals as a standalone release. This attracted a lot of attention, especially in light of Warner Bros. Games announcing that it will focus its efforts on live service games moving forward, potentially starting with the post-launch roadmap for Mortal Kombat 1.
While it’s great to know that players won’t have to spend too much real-world money to unlock new fatalities, the discussion surrounding monetisation and microtransactions in Warner Bros. Games titles has only grown more contentious. Fans are also worried that the upcoming Rocksteady game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, might be in danger of this.
In related news, the publisher revealed that Mortal Kombat 1 managed to sell 3 million copies since its release in September. Developer NetherRealm Studios also laid out the roadmap for its upcoming Kombat Pack DLC.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
