Razer Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox is Fantastic

When shopping around for charging stands for my controllers, I like to look at well-designed and themed docks that complement the controller itself instead of sticking out like a sore thumb on your desk or table. After giving the Razer Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox a glance, it more than fills that quota while also being one of the better, if not the best, charging stands you can find on the market right now.

The Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox Pulse Red Edition, in particular, was what I got to play around with. While the Pulse Red tone off-set my black Xbox Series X/S controller, I could look past that and just focus on the form and performance of the stand. As of writing, there’s nearly a dozen different colours to pick and choose from so you can find the ideal stand that matches yours. It’s elegantly designed and kept relatively low-key without looking like a flashy, futuristic monstrosity.

First and foremost, placing your Xbox controller on the stand is simple thanks to the magnetic contact system that locks it into place when attached. It’s sturdy enough so you don’t have to worry about your controller tipping over at any point during charge, ensuring it remains uninterrupted. The dock itself is firmly built with the sole purpose of gripping your controller and keeping it gripped while placed on charge. A USB is then plugged into the back of the dock to get it charging.

The “quick” part in its name also lives up to the hype. Razer markets it being able to fully charge your controller in under 3 hours and I put this through the test on a few occasions. On a completely flat controller, it took around 2 and a half hours to fully charge which is commendable. Overcharge protection also prevents any overheating or short circuiting so you don’t have to worry about damaging your controller if you leave it to charge overnight.

The stand universally charges Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S controllers but I didn’t get a chance to try it out for Xbox One, though the results might be similar. Unfortunately it doesn’t support Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 which is worth noting. It also comes packaged with a reliable rechargeable battery (you can’t go wrong with Razer) and battery covers for both generation Xbox controllers, which was a nice touch. This is often excluded from other branded charging stands so it’s good that Razer thought about that.

Finally, there’s the price point. With prices ranging between R799 and above depending on where you look, it’s not as cheap as other brand counterparts on the market. However, Razer’s premium quality means you’re in safe hands and guaranteed a sturdy, long-lasting charging stand that’s worth the investment, especially if you’re looking to buy one now that’s probably gonna last you a while.

Razer’s Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox is absolutely worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new, trustworthy charging stand that packs all the essentials and more. With terrific performance and fast charging times, it’s a worthy bit of equipment to own that completes your Xbox gaming setup.
