Rockstar Games has added the Red Dead Redemption remaster to its GTA+ subscription service, which means subscribers get access to another divisive remaster next to GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition without having to pay the premium price for it. This is good news, I assure you.
Active PlayStation and Xbox subscribers to GTA+, which is relatively cheap at about R100 a month, will get to play Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare via the service starting today. The game is currently available to PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players who have a subscription, which not only includes GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition but also extra perks for GTA Online.
The Red Dead Redemption remaster launched last year for PS4 and Nintendo Switch to a very mixed reception. Many called it a disappointing port that didn’t even capitalise on the power of current-gen hardware as it launched on last-gen consoles with the bare-minimum effort put into its “remastering”. However, Rockstar Games later added 60FPS support for PS5 players experiencing the game via backward compatibility.

Rockstar Games is currently hard at work on the highly anticipated GTA 6, which is set to launch sometime in 2025. The game will take us back to the Miami-inspired setting of Vice City with a set of two Bonnie and Clyde-style protagonists. Analysts believe that GTA 6 will be the most important game to ‘ever release in the industry’, so no pressure.
As for a potential Red Dead Redemption 3, Arthur Morgan’s voice actor Roger Clark previously stated that he believes it will eventually happen, though for spoiler reasons, he probably won’t be involved.
