Developer Insomniac Games has explained the differences players can expect to see if they are playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS4 or PS5. The biggest differences will come from the game’s presentation.
While we don’t know much about the game’s story at this point, we know it takes place a year after the events of the original PS4 title. Insomniac claims Peter Parker will have a significant role to play in the standalone game and act as sort of a guardian angel to Miles. In addition, Peter will help Miles hone his crime-fighting abilities.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales will feature some major difference between the PS4 and PS5 versions. Insomniac Games says the big changes come in performance, visuals and making use of the DualSense controller. For example, Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5 features ray-tracing;

Insomniac Games did want to make one thing clear; gamers can expect the same awesome gameplay experience in Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS4 and PS5. There is no console parity in terms of gameplay across the two editions. In short, if you have a PS5, the game takes advantage of the power and the controller. If you have a PS4, the game will feel and look very much the same as the 2018 Marvel’s Spider-Man.
