Stellar Blade Main Story Will Take 25 Hours to Complete

The main story for Stellar Blade will take roughly 25 hours to complete, says developer Shift Up. For many, this is great news as it means the main campaign will be quite lengthy. Shift Up also mentioned that for those planning to do 100% completion, including doing all side activities and content, it will likely take 30-50 hours to complete.

Korean website Ruliweb recently interviewed Shift Up CEO Hyung-Tae Kim about the reason why Stellar Blade‘s release got pushed back, initially believing that the game simply lacked content. The CEO responded by saying that the delays weren’t due to a lack of content but rather because of polishing. Kim then mentioned that the game’s main story will take players 25 hours to complete, which is quite a long campaign for an action game.

Additionally, completionists seeking a 100% completion rate can look forward to spending at least 30-50 hours in Stellar Blade. PlayStation debuted a gameplay overview at January’s State of Play event which explored the game’s versatile combat, RPG-lite mechanics, gear system and more. It’s shaping up to be a lengthy journey but a welcomed one for players concerned that it wouldn’t have enough content to justify its price tag.

In other news, Hyung-Tae Kim talked a bit about the game’s key inspirations, taking notes from titles like Bayonetta, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Nier: Automata, the 1982 movie Blade Runner and the classic manga, Alita Battle Angel. Nier: Automata was one of the biggest inspirations as Kim later showed his appreciation for director Yoko Taro and how the game helped shape the ideas for Stellar Blade.

Stellar Blade launches on 26 April 2024 exclusively for PS5. Make sure you check out the South African pre-order guide as well as the various editions that you can pre-purchase right now.
