Ubisoft has announced that The Division 2 has hit over 20 million players since its launch back in 2019. This is quite an achievement given that Ubisoft originally planned to drop support for the shooter in 2020 following the drastic player drop. However, the developer launched a robust seasonal content plan for the game and it has grown way beyond anything we had expected.
Back in 2020, Ubisoft launched The Warlords of New York expansion for The Division 2 where players returned to the Big Apple to take down rogue Division agents. That, alongside the new seasonal content drops, saw players flock to Division 2 faster than expected.

Ubisoft is set to roll out its Year 5 Season 1 content for the game this week. The season is called Year 5 Season 1: Broken Wings and will kick off on 8 June. The season brings with it a new rogue-lite mode called Descent where players will take on waves of increased enemies in a simulation.
Descent will come with its own rewards, modifiers, infinite difficulty curves, leaderboard and more. Sam Fischer, the Splinter Cell agent will also arrive in the game. Players can unlock certain cosmetics in the premium track to turn their character into a Sam Fischer clone.
Ubisoft will dive into the full seasonal content for Divison 2 later today. The stream will kick off at 16:16 CEST / 10:15 EDT / 07:15 PDT on Twitch.
