South Africans who spent a little more on God of War Ragnarok and bought the Jotnar, Collector’s Edition, PlayStation 5 Console + Game Bundle and the God of War Ragnarok Limited Edition DualSense Controller are going to have to wait a bit longer to jump into the game. Local distributor Gamefinity has announced a stock delay for all God of War Ragnarok content besides the Standard Edition game.
At the moment, there’s no new street date for the pricier bundles but the distributor says the delay should only be a few days. 2-3 days to be exact. However, the expected “2-3” day delay only takes into account the game’s delayed arrival at the distribution location in Johannesburg. This means retailer couriers will still have to collect their God of War Ragnarok stock and either ship it to stores or ship it to another location before it is sent to gamers. This delay could stretch out as far as next week.

Sadly, this God of War Ragnarok delay marks the second speed bump for Gamefinity this year. Horizon Forbidden West also suffered from a substantial delay that saw the Regalla and Collector’s Edition both delayed two weeks in the country. Gamefinity did issue Standard Edition copies to gamers who ordered the Regalla and Collector’s Edition to tide them over until the stock arrived. However, it doesn’t seem that it going to happen this time around.
You also need to keep in mind that as frustrating as the situation is, the recent Transnet strike in Durban has led to the God of War Ragnarok delay. The strike took place in October and only recently wrapped up. The week-long wage strike resulted in a massive backlog of goods at the port and as a result, the God of War Ragnarok copies were affected. Gamefinity says the delay has affected the following products:
- God of War & PlayStation 5 Bundle
- God of War Limited Edition DualSense Controller
- God of War Limited Edition DualSense Controller + Game
- God of War Jotnar Edition
- God of War Collector’s Edition
We will update you once we have more information on the exact street date for the delayed game.
