Here’s What Horizon Forbidden West Looks Like Running on The PS4

Guerrilla Games and Sony has shared some new gameplay footage from the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West showing off the game running on PS4 hardware. Why is this important you may be asking? While Sony has shared a load of PS5 gameplay, PS4 owners have wondered what the game would look like on the console. You know, because not everyone has a PS5 yet. By the look of things, Horizon Forbidden West looks just as magical on the older hardware.

Guerrilla Games also revealed that Horizon Forbidden West has gone gold meaning the game’s development has wrapped up ahead of its 18 February 2022 release date.

While the developer did not share any exact technical specifications with the PS4 gameplay, it does claim to be running on the PS4 Pro console. The footage shows a series of gifs as Aloy walks through a range of locations and also fights some machines.

The Utaru tribe make their home in Plainsong, although the lands they live in have been heavily affected by the mysterious red blight. In this clip, you get a glimpse at their way of living in the massive thatched canopies, built atop Old World radar dishes – both serene and defensible.

Here is the clip of the combat.

Here is another clip of Aloy using her glider in combat and seamlessly jumping onto a mount and escaping.

Along with these gifs, Sony also released a better-quality gameplay video on Twitter.

If Sony and Guerilla Games can pull this off on the PS4 Pro for Horizon Forbidden West then I can’t wait to see what Gran Turismo 7 and God of War Ragnarok look like. Both are expected to launch this year too with GT7 out on 4 March.
