Nintendo Direct February 2023 – When and Where to Watch

Nintendo has officially announced a new Direct event that promises to showcase 40 minutes of games coming to Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2023. This may include another look at the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as well as other unannounced games. Here’s when and where you can watch the Nintendo Direct event.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the big game on everyone’s mind going into this Nintendo Direct. The highly anticipated new entry in the Zelda franchise and successor to Breath of the Wild is set to release on 12 May 2023 exclusively for Nintendo Switch. It received a release date and new gameplay last September, but we may get another vertical slice of gameplay at this showcase.

When to Watch

The Nintendo Direct event will take place on 8 February (today) and kick off at 2pm PT / 10pm GMT or 12am (Midnight) CAT. As usual, South Africans will need to stay up until late to catch the event, though most dedicated Switch fans presumably got it all planned out.

Where to Watch

You’ll be able to tune into the Nintendo Direct event today (or tonight) via the Nintendo of America YouTube channel. However, the livestream is up right now. We took the liberty of embedding it below so you won’t have to navigate a maze of videos to find it.

As for what you can expect, it’s a safe bet to assume we’re getting new gameplay for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Pikmin 4 is also scheduled to release sometime in 2023 so that might make an appearance as well. Additionally, we may finally receive an update on Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp, which was originally supposed to launch back in April 2022 but got delayed.

Of course, there’s also the case of Metroid Prime 4. It’s been in development for several years now and even underwent a complete overhaul when it switched studios back to original developer Retro Studios. Some time has passed since that change and fans are hoping to finally receive news on the long-awaited sequel.

Don’t miss the Nintendo Direct event today. You can tune in to watch it below.
