Tom Holland Wants to Make a Jak and Daxter Movie Next

Uncharted and Spider-Man star Tom Holland has stated that he’d like to make a live-action Jak and Daxter movie next. Speaking to GameSpot, Holland enthusiastically answered that he’d like to be involved in a movie adaptation of Naughty Dog’s adventure series, though he’d like to see a live-action spin put on it.

When asked by GameSpot about what video game movie he’d like to be involved in next after Uncharted, Holland answered that he’d love to make a Jak and Daxter movie, albeit a darker version of it.

Holland’s full reply reads:

“I would like to make a Jak and Daxter movie, and I would play Jak. But I would make it at A24, so it was really weird and like dark. I would do like a really weird, live-action version of Jak and Daxter.”

Jak and Daxter was a series of adventure games developed by Naughty Dog and originally launched on the PlayStation 2. It enjoyed some success and went on to become one of the brand’s more recognizable mascots next to Crash Bandicoot and Ratchet & Clank. It has been several years since a new video game entry was released.

As mentioned by Holland, A24 is a movie studio that mostly releases darker horror movies and indie projects. Their previous works include The Lighthouse, The Witch, Hereditary and Uncut Gems, among others. Their films are known for being quite experimental and weird.

PlayStation is currently working on multiple movie and television adaptations based on their IPs, including HBO’s upcoming The Last of Us show and this month’s Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. A live-action Ghost of Tsushima movie has also been greenlit, though might still be a ways off from release.

Due to their recent acquisition of Bungie, PlayStation has also expressed interest in turning the Destiny franchise into movies.
