Stray is Officially Coming to Xbox Consoles This August

After an ESRB rating for Stray on Xbox platforms appeared last month, it looks like we finally have confirmation from Annapurna Interactive that the award-winning adventure title will be coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S this August. The game previously launched on PS4, PS5 and PC in July 2022 but it’s finally heading to more platforms for players to enjoy.

As revealed by IGN, Stray will launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on 10 August 2023. It’s unclear if it will appear on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service but there’s a good chance that it will. Stray went on to be nominated for several awards at The Game Awards 2022 including Best Debut Indie Game, Best Indie Game, Best Art Direction, Best Action/Adventure and Game of the Year, winning Best Indie Game and Best Debut Indie Game.

For those unfamiliar with Stray, the official description for the game reads:

“Lost, alone and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten city. Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures.”

The description continues:

“See the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world. Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B-12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out. Stray is developed by BlueTwelve Studio, a small team from the south of France mostly made up of cats and a handful of humans.”

Stray arrives on Xbox platforms on 10 August 2023.
