Along with the new 10 minutes of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay, Nintendo also announced a fancy special edition Switch console releasing on 28 April. The console will launch a few weeks before the actual release of the Tears of the Kingdom game, which is out on 16 May, so it doesn’t come with a copy of the game.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch Console is an OLED model and features various decals across the device and Joy-Con which pay tribute to the iconic game. The dock, for example, is glossy white and includes a Hylian illustration in gold.

The actual Switch itself also comes with some Hyrule decorations at the back which make up a square pattern. The Joy-Con controllers feature gold and green colours from The Legen of Zelda series made into patterns from the new game.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED will launch on 28 April. I have received confirmation that South Africa will be getting this special edition console on the day. In addition, we’ll also get The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch Pro Controller which also comes with some cool-looking Hylian illustrations across it.
Lastly, there’s a The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch Carry Case which also features some artwork on it and even two cool zip designs. It comes with 1 screen protector for the Switch OLED system and 1 screen protector for the standard Nintendo Switch in the box.
The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and Carry case are launching sometime in May. Keep in mind that there’s also The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition and amiibo you can pre-order that comes with an artbook and other goodies. Find out more about that here.
