We know that Hogwarts Legacy was 2023’s best-selling game but up to now, we didn’t know exactly how many copies were sold. WB Games confirmed that by the end of 2023, the open-world Harry Potter-inspired RPG sold 22 million copies but the publisher has now confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy has sold 24 million copies in total.
This puts Hogwarts Legacy at the top of 2023’s best-selling games. The game has surpassed other big hitters including the annual Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The latter managed to sell 19.5 million copies which is pretty impressive given it was only available on the Nintendo Switch.

In a tweet, Warner Bros. Games says that Hogwarts Legacy players can look forward to the PlayStation-exclusive content launching on other platforms soon. The content was exclusive to PlayStation for an entire year. It includes a side mission.
However, the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account has also teased new features headed to the game too. In the tweet, the account says Hogwarts Legacy is set to receive “additional updates and features”. It followed up by saying fans should “Stay tuned in the coming months for more details on what’s coming to Hogwarts Legacy this year”.
By the sound of things, Portkey Games might be working on some additional DLC for Hogwarts Legacy. We don’t know what this might be. However, fans speculate that Quidditch might finally be added to the game. The popular wizard sport was removed from Hogwarts Legacy due to creative differences between the studio, J.K Rowling and a sports team that trademarked the sport.
But I won’t bank on Quidditch at this rate, to be honest. WB Games is currently working on a standalone Quidditch game which recently had a closed beta test. The leaked gameplay showed customization features and a robust Quidditch system. I doubt WB Games will add Quidditch to Hogwarts Legacy while the publisher is funding the development of this standalone game.
As we near the one-year anniversary of Hogwarts Legacy, we wanted to let our community know that the Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation-exclusive content will be available on other platforms later this summer, along with additional updates and features for the game. Stay tuned in the…
