Silent Hill 2 Remake Teased For Tokyo Game Show 2023 – Report

The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team might have a presence at Tokyo Game Show 2023. The anticipated remake was initially revealed last year when Konami revealed a handful of new Silent Hill games, though no release dates were revealed beyond the announcement trailers. That might all change at Tokyo Game Show this weekend as fans suspect that the Silent Hill 2 remake might appear at the event with a release date.

A new Reddit thread on the Silent Hill subreddit revealed that a banner for Tokyo Game Show now appears on the Steam page for the Silent Hill 2 remake. No other Konami game seems to have this banner on its Steam page apart from Yu-Gi-Oh!, suggesting that the publisher might have plans to show the remake at the upcoming event in some capacity.

Earlier this year, developer Bloober Team confirmed that development on the Silent Hill 2 remake was close to complete. Since then, we’ve heard no update from the studio regarding a release date or new information on the game. Some speculate that Bloober Team used the time to apply the polishing touches and kept its head low while others think that without new information, the remake might be a lot further out from release than anticipated. Either way, most believe that it could realistically launch sometime in 2024.

We’ll just have to wait for Tokyo Game Show to find out if this is legitimate or just smoke and mirrors… or fog and mirrors, I guess. The event kicks off on 21 September with a massive list of publishers attending.

Other Silent Hill projects currently in development include Silent Hill F, a new mysterious game in the series from Higurashi writer Ryukishi07 and Silent Hill: Townfall, a new interactive horror from Annapurna and NoCode.

Silent Hill 2 is currently in development for PS5 and PC.
